Vegan U.S. Yellow Split Peas Breakfast Smoothie topped with a U.S. Chickpeas Foam
250ml Milk (Almond, Soy, Oat….)
200gm Crushed Ice
100gm Cooked U.S. Yellow Split Peas
100gm Raisins (Black or Gold) or Dried Cranberries
50gm Instant Oat Meal
60gm Brown Sugar
½ Table Chia Seeds
To Taste Vanillin or Vanilla Essence
To Taste Cinnamon To Taste
Vegan Whipped Topping for Garnish
Soak the black raisins in the chosen milk for 10 to 15 minutes.
In to a blender add the cooked U.S. Yellow Split Peas soaked black raisins, oatmeal, chia seeds, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, the remaining milk, and the ice.
Start blending at a slow speed increasing it steadily to maximum speed.
Blend until all the ice is pureed and you cannot hear it in the blender anymore.
Pour into the glass and garnish with the vegan whip topping.
Note: For natural sweetness, we have added raisins (cranberries) to this recipe which can be replaced by sugar if preferred.
