TastyUSA is an event organized by USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service office. The objective of the event was to promote various U.S. origin products and host the “Great American Pizza Competition”. U.S. Pulses invited two chefs who we have worked with in the past to sell their food using U.S. pulses. The other U.S. cooperators at the event included U.S. Wheat Associates, U.S. Meat Export Federation, California Milk Advisory Board, Washington Apples, Potatoes USA, Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute, and U.S. Popcorn.

Chef Sophon “Ten” Poomrattanawong, is a Masterchef Thailand Season 5 contestant who
we have worked with in the past for Food Ingredients Asia 2022. The chef sold Green Split Pea Curry Risotto, Open Sandwich Chickpea Hummus, and Shrimp Risotto with Ayam Baked Beans.


Chef Sapthagiri “Giri” Mohan Srirangam sells plant-based Indian cuisine through food delivery in Bangkok. We collaborated with him to sell U.S. pulses dishes at Root The Future’s Plant-based & Sustainability Market event in Chiang Mai, Thailand back in August. For the TastyUSA event, Chef Giri sold Yellow Pea Lentil Rice with Chickpea Cutlet, Brown Lentil Falafel with Tomato Chutney, and Ayam Baked Beans salad with Crispy Split Green Peas.
