Ginataang Tulingan with U.S. Black Beans
3 tablespoons Cooking Oil
2 teaspoons minced Garlic
1 medium Onion, sliced
2 teaspoons sliced Ginger
500 g Skipjack Tuna or Mackerel Tuna (Also Called “Tulingan”), Washed And Drained
½ cup cooked U.S Black Beans
2 cups Coconut Milk Or Cream
4 Green Chili Pepper
Patis And Pepper, to taste
Scallion, for garnish
- Heat oil . Sauté the ginger, onion, and garlic until aromatic.
- Add half of the coconut milk (or coconut cream) and simmer until the mixture is reduced by half. Add the fish, U.S. Black Beans and the rest of the coconut milk.
- Simmer for 5 minutes while stirring constantly. Season with fish sauce and black pepper.
- Stir in the green chili pepper and transfer to a serving platter. Top with chopped scallion.
